"We love good food especially when it's grown by our own hands or by the people and community we value. So join us to prepare, chop and cook locally grown vegetables for a versatile tomato sauce.
While the sauce is simmering away we will have a talk from zero waste activists Amanda Chapman and Candace Weir on how they go about living zero waste day to day. From hiking to working in the CBD to raising babies they will fill you in!
Bought to you by Tamaki WRAP (Waste Reduction Action Project) – “Connecting and supporting communities to reduce waste.”
This event is in association with Kai Auckland’s ‘The Tomato Movement’.
“Most people have a can of tomatoes in their cupboard - do you know that they probably have not have been grown here in New Zealand? Over spring and summer, join the tomato movement and propagate, plant, harvest and bottle Auckland-grown tomatoes.”
Bring any spare fresh tomatoes or herbs so that we add them to the pot of goodness!
Reusing is cool so BYO jar or container to take away some fresh tomato sauce.
Register through Te Oro! See you there!"
