Lunchtime Learning - Growing Flowers That Glow

  • The Griffiths Gardens 42 Wellesley Street West Auckland, Auckland, 1010 New Zealand (map)

Ever wondered why one cabbage is being attacked by insects while another isnt?

Plants emit an Ultra Violet Light that insects can see. A healthy plant glows all the time where as a weak plant will flash on and off. Insects know weak plants are rubbish and that they can breed their babies on them. Strong plants are not attactive to insects as their sugar content is too high for their babies to feed on. Therefore insects will avoid them.

Knowing how the biological engine works is your way to becoming a capable biololgical gardener.

Come and learn how the engine works at our lunchtime sessions. This week we start to use biological supports to sow our seeds into our garden beds.
