Design Your Permaculture Garden
As part of our mini winter permaculture series with Trish Allen
Permaculture works with nature, not against. In this session we will look at the basics of bringing your garden to life with a beautiful and functional edible ecosytem design, that is bee friendly. Starting with your own dreams and aspirations for your garden, we will move on to site observation, it’s features, soil type, sun angles, water, wind, weeds – letting patterns of use emerge.
For the Love of Bees is thrilled to be able to offer free weekend classes at Griffith Gardens lead by one of New Zealands founding Permaculture practitioners Trish Allen. Trish and her late husband, Joe Polaischer, co-founded the iconic, award-winning Rainbow Valley Farm in Matakana in the late 1980s. The farm became an education centre and inspired thousands of people over 25 years in sustainable living and demonstrated the principles of permaculture in action. Trish will run a series of weekend workshops over 2017 at Griffith Gardens as part of our workshops called Digging Deeper. These will build on topics we cover in our weekly Lunchtime Learning sessions designed to enable you to grow in ways that are safe for bees.
