Life in the Soil
As past of our mini winter permaculture series with Trish Allen
The magic of soil, its microbes, bacteria, fungi ...... Nurturing your soil, compost, worms, sheetmulching, bio-char. Turning food and garden waste back into soil. By following the permaculture principle of working with nature, not against, we can grow healthy food in healthy soil without the need for bee-damaging chemicals.
For the Love of Bees is thrilled to be able to offer free weekend classes at Griffith Gardens lead by one of New Zealands founding Permaculture practitioners Trish Allen. Trish and her late husband, Joe Polaischer, co-founded the iconic, award-winning Rainbow Valley Farm in Matakana in the late 1980s. The farm became an education centre and inspired thousands of people over 25 years in sustainable living and demonstrated the principles of permaculture in action. Trish will run a series of weekend workshops over 2017 at Griffith Gardens as part of our workshops called Digging Deeper. These will build on topics we cover in our weekly Lunchtime Learning sessions designed to enable you to grow in ways that are safe for bees.
